The Nutcracker

MarLo Dance Studio celebrates its 27th season with, “The Nutcracker,” a holiday celebration to share! Dancing toys, mischievous mice, waltzing flowers and sparkling snowflakes dance to Tchaikovsky’s sumptuous score. The 2025 production opens Saturday, Dec. 6, with four additional performances at the Sprague Community Theater in Bandon, Oregon.

This Christmas classic tells the story of Clara and her magical Nutcracker Prince as they embark on a thrilling adventure. MarLo Dance Studio bi-annually rings in the Christmas season with a family-friendly version to captivate audience members of all ages. MDS’s lavish scenery and costumes makes this ballet a family favorite.

Guest dancer Hadassah Slater joins the performance as the delicate, twirling Sugar Plum Fairy. Hadassah is an alumna of MarLo and company member of Ballet Fantastique, based in Eugene, Oregon.

“The Nutcracker” runs two weekends, opening with 3 p.m. matinees on December 6 and 7. A second weekend of performances is December 12, 13, 14. Performance times are 7 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
