The Bandon Senior Activity Center has suspended several programs due to rising COVID numbers. To protect the health of all participants, the board of directors requires users of the facility to be fully vaccinated.

Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS), which normally meets Friday mornings, is suspended until October or until COVID numbers decline. Games of Choice, formerly on Mondays, are cancelled until further notice.

Some activities are still taking place, with masks and social distancing required.

Cribbage fans start 36 weeks of tournament play in September. Games run from 5:30 to 9 or 10 p.m. Tuesdays. Call Doc or Sandy Nyhart at 503-508-0338 or 541-285-5399 to sign up.

Beginning bridge is taught at 11 a.m. Thursdays, followed by Duplicate bridge games from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Open bridge is played Fridays from 1 to 4 p.m.

Chair Yoga, a one-hour class of easy stretching exercises, is offered on a by-donation basis at 10 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, and at 11 a.m. Fridays.

The BSAC is located behind the bright red door at the southern end of the Bandon Community Center, 1200 11th St. SW. Hosts and hostesses are needed for several hours each day, to greet visitors and answer inquiries. Please leave a message with your name and number, including area code, at 541-347-4131.
