About the Play
The beloved children’s novel “Charlotte’s Web” was adapted for stage by Joseph Robinette with direction from author E.B. White. The play captures all of the wonder and delight of the award-winning 1952 book. Performances are scheduled for two weekends, beginning Oct. 17, at the Sprague Community Theater.
Character roles include Wilbur, the irresistible young pig, who desperately wants to avoid the butcher; Fern, a girl with the ability to understand her animal friends; the extraordinary spider, Charlotte, who proves to be a true friend and a good writer; Templeton the rat, along with other farmyard animals, and the Zuckerman and Arable families.
Bandon Playhouse has provided the best in community theater, from classic musicals to premiere works by new playwrights, since 1976. Bandon Playhouse volunteers are proud to keep the performing arts alive and accessible on the Southern Oregon Coast. For more information, visit BandonPlayhouse.org.
This Bandon Playhouse program is directed by Stephanie Jones and is produced by special arrangement with the Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock, Illinois.
