The Wizard of Oz
May 16, 2025 @ 7:00 pm

MarLo Dance Studio introduces a fresh rendition of “The Wizard of Oz,” opening Mother’s Day Weekend at the Sprague Community Theater in Bandon!
Reimagine this beloved story of a young girl, swept to the magical land of Oz, where she teams up with the Scarecrow, Tin Girl and Cowardly Lion to find the Wizard and return home. In MarLo style, dancers skip and grand jete down the yellow brick road, weaving mime with ballet, tap, contemporary, jazz and hip-hop dance genres.
“It’s a show you won’t want to miss, the kind of family event that brings a community together,” said MarLo founder Maria Merriam.
The professionally staged production has everything audiences expect in Dorothy’s iconic adventure— adorable munchkins, flying monkeys and memorable dancing by more than 100 youth and adult students from Coos and Curry counties along with MarLo instructors.
