Bandon Playhouse will host a free community theater workshop— Voice and Body Warmups, plus Intro-Level Choreography— at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Sprague Community Theater. 

Performers of all experience levels, age 12 and older, are welcome. Register in advance to reserve your spot. The Sprague Community Theater is located at 1202 11th St SW, in Bandon City Park.

The post 21st Annual Women’s Health Day first appeared on Bandon Events.]]> Join us for the 21st Annual Women’s Health Day on Saturday, Feb. 24, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Bandon Community Center, sponsored by Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center and the Southern Coos Health Foundation.

This year’s topic is “Women’s Whole Health: Prevention, Care & Well-Being.” Our keynote speaker is Gillian Ehrilich, Family Nurse Practitioner and Certified in Functional and Ayurvedic Medicine. There will once again be a healthcare panel featuring local practitioners, along with additional speakers, journaling, stretch breaks, cooking demo, raffles, vendors and drawings. Breakfast and lunch will be served and the Hospital Gift Shop will have a pop-up.

Doors open at 9:15 a.m. for registration. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the workshops. Bring your own snack if desired; water will be provided.

Saturday, July 29, the workshops conclude with Music & Movement taught by local actors and directors Geneva Miller and Bobbi Neason. This workshop is open to ALL ages. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Three classes will be offered, with sessions beginning at 9:30 a.m. Drop by for one, or stay for the day. Classes are designed for beginners, age 14 to adult (or with prior permission), but experienced performers are welcome to come brush up their technique.

Doors open at 9 a.m. for registration. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the class you wish to attend. Bootcamp classes start at 9:30 a.m. with “Theater for Dummies” led by Corrie Gant. “Improv. and Acting” class begins at 10:30 a.m., led by Mike Dempsey. Bring your own brown bag lunch for break time from 12 to 12:30 p.m. The day wraps with “Movement and Mime,” led by Nameer El-Kadi, from 12:30 to 2 p.m.

Admission is $10 for new or returning Bandon Playhouse members (includes Playhouse membership) or $5 for active members. Participants are encouraged to reserve their spot as soon as possible; those under age 18 will need parent or guardian signature to sign in.
