The story follows the life-long struggles and relationships of an African American woman living in the South during the early 1900s.

Performers Danielle Brooks and Fantasia Barrino reprise their roles from the Broadway musical. Additional cast members include Halle Bailey, Taraji P. Henson, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor and Elizabeth Marvel.

Show time is 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 7, at the Sprague Community Theater.

The film is directed by Blitz Bazawule, Warner Bros., 2023, rated PG-13. Run time is 2 hours, 20 minutes.
