Bash for Cash is a fundraising event to support Project Graduation which provides a safe and sober celebration night for the graduating class of 2024.  The event features a dinner, Bingo, live auction, silent auction, raffle items, no host bar and more.  All proceeds benefit the Class of 2024!

The Rootin’ Tootin’ Saturday Night event is April 6, 5:30 p.m., at the Bandon Community Center. Guests 21 and older welcome.

Admission is $25 per person, or reserve a table for eight for $200.

The Bandon High School Speech and Debate Team presents a Sweet Speeches performance and fundraising event Friday, April 14, at the Sprague Community Theater. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m.

The program features competition pieces performed by members of the BHS Speech and Debate Team.

Admission is $5 for students and $10 for adults. Tickets are available from team members; at Bandon High School, 550 9th St SW in Bandon; and at the door.

Proceedes from the fundraising event will support the studio scholarship fund as well as costuming. The 2023 edition calendar is limited to 100 copies.

For each calendar sold, $10 is applied directly toward the cost of a student’s spring performance costumes. For calendars purchased directly from studio, the proceeds will go to a family who would benefit from assistance.

Summer’s here! Ready to get moving? For the Health of Bandon Activity Challenge is a virtual fundraiser focused on promoting healthy lifestyles for residents of Bandon and beyond.

The Activity Challenge takes place June 14 through 28, presented by Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center with the Southern Coos Health Foundation. Participants choose any activity that gets them moving and exercising. All they have to do is log miles walked or hiked, the time spent golfing, surfing, playing tennis, gardening or doing yoga. Any activity or combination of activities qualifies.

Sign up online at SouthernCoos.org/healthybandon. Registration is only $10, and covers an event T-shirt, a medal, and a certificate. All will be sent to participants in advance of the event.

For the Health of Bandon is a fundraiser for the hospital’s foundation and will support services such as educational scholarships for local people working toward health care careers, as well as the annual drive-through free Flu Shot Clinic, along with other benefits to the hospital and community.

Bandon City Park is a great location to have fun and get moving. Take a stroll through the park, gather friends for a round of disc golf or a visit to the dog park. Kids of all ages can romp in the playground. Walk a few blocks west to explore trails and beach access at the Coquille Point headland viewpoint. Happy Holidays from MarLo Dance Studio! Watch “The Grinch,” followed by a live showcase with MarLo dancers. Show time is 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, at the Sprague Community Theater.

Watch out– the Grinch is coming to steal Christmas! Mean old Mr. Grinch plots an elaborate scheme to impersonate Santa, but one sweet Who down in Whoville may blow his cover. “The Grinch” (Universal Pictures 2018) is an animated family movie with a hip soundtrack and your favorite Dr. Seuss cast of Whoville characters. The movie is 1 hour, 30 minutes, rated PG. Concessions will be available for purchase at the snack bar.

Theater seating is limited. Parties of 10 or fewer may be seated together for this event.

The City of Bandon is following Phase 2 guidance from the Oregon Health Authority to protect the public and reduce the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Patrons are reminded to wear a mask or face covering and maintain six feet social distance as much as possible.

Admission is limited, and seats will be assigned to allow social distancing in the auditorium. Please follow directions provided by ushers for entering and exiting as well as seating.
