DESCRIPTION:Louis Pearl mesmerizes audiences with his bubble-making performances. \nOne of the world’s leading bubble-ologists\, Louis began in 1980 by making\, demonstrating\, and selling a toy called the Bubble Trumpet on a street corner in Berkeley\, California. Eventually\, his toy company had 147 products with international manufacturing and distribution. \nBut Louis found that he preferred playing with the toys over selling them. DESCRIPTION:Nature photographer Susan Dimock unveils her 2025 photographic memoir with “Drawing Stories from Nature\,” a mixed-media staged reading from the book “Taking Refuge on the Oregon Coast.” The book and the staged reading follow Susan’s discovery journey as a nature photographer and wildlife conservation advocate. \n“Drawing Stories from Nature” will debut as part of the 2025 Bandon Fringe Festival at the Sprague Community Theater. This immersive experience features voice acting by Lori Catlin and Melissa Cribbins\, along with improvisational piano performance by Jane Suppes\, and projected images from Susan’s collection. A retired licensed clinical social worker\, she describes her transition from therapist to nature photographer as an awakening that has brought healing\, solace and joy. In the last decade-plus\, Susan has published work digitally and presented many print exhibits. She is excited to release her first book\, “Taking Refuge on the Oregon Coast.” Learn more about Susan’s work at SusanDimockPhotography.com. \nLori Catlin moved to Oregon from Colorado in 2021 with her husband Brad. She is a mother of three and grandmother of four. She enjoys spending time with her kids and grandchildren. Living in Bandon has given her a sense of “being home.” Lori is pleased to return to the Sprague Community Theater stage following her debut performance in the Bandon Playhouse summer 2024 “Gala.” \nMelissa Cribbins is an attorney and Tribal Court Chief Judge in Coos Bay. She grew up in Coos County\, and feels that this is the place that her soul has always called home. She and her husband\, Troy\, have raised three children on the south coast\, and she and her family believe in supporting and giving back to the community. \nJane Suppes has been a Coos Bay local for over 20 years. She has been an active musician for most of that time\, accompanying many on piano. Jane has also taken part in theatre productions\, playing at various churches\, and jazz combos. She and her partner Michael enjoy spending time in nature\, creating mixed media art\, and playing chess. \nGeneva Miller is a performing arts and education enthusiast who enjoys emergent creative projects. For more than two decades\, she has been privileged to work with artists and performers at all ages and stages of life in Oregon’s Coos and Curry counties. Geneva is grateful to Susan Dimock and the cast of “Drawing Stories from Nature” for embracing this book-to-stage collaboration.

Ms. Simpson has generously written “The Footbridge” for Bandon’s own Amber and Jessica Burg\, which will debut at Bandon’s first annual Fringe Festival. \nDanielle Owens has performed on stage in Chicago and St. Louis\, along with video and voiceover work. Danielle’s first Bandon performance was in the role of Chick in the 2025 Bandon Playhouse production of “Crimes of the Heart.” She is delighted to return to the theater\, her first love. \nAfter a multi-decade hiatus from acting\, Amber Burg made her Bandon Playhouse debut in the role of Lenny in the 2025 production of “Crimes of the Heart.” Growing up in the little town of Virginia City\, NV\, Amber knows first hand how important the arts are for small communities. She thanks you for supporting this theater. \nJessica Burg’s theater credits include the role of Babe in the 2025 Bandon Playhouse production of “Crimes of the Heart” and stage hand for the 2024 “A Christmas Story” production. It focuses on women with deep\, intimate relationships\, and it’s very human. The characters are quirky\, but they’re believable\,” said director Sandra Heinzmann. \nHeinzmann earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in acting from the University of California\, Davis. For more than 30 years\, she worked as a professor of theater\, also acting in and directing plays throughout the United States and internationally. She is especially drawn to contemporary and experimental work\, female voices in literature\, multimedia performance\, and (of course)\, Shakespeare. \nHeinzmann moved to Bandon in 2021 with her husband Peter. Since then\, she has joined the Art by the Sea Gallery and Studio where she showcases clay pieces and pottery. DESCRIPTION:There’s a lot going on with local theater! Come find out at “A Celebration of Theatre Gala Night\,” presented by Bandon Playhouse and the Sprague Community Theater. \nThe Gala will be held one night only\, on Saturday\, Aug. 17\, at the Sprague Theater\, 1202 11th St. SW in Bandon City Park. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.\, the auditorium opens at 6:30 and the show starts at 7 p.m. \nNo-host food trucks will be in the parking lot\, so come have dinner. The show’s ticket price of $25 each includes two free beverages (wine\, beer\, cider or soda). Live music will be provided by Skeet (John Gretzinger). A photo booth adds to the fun and Playhouse board members will be on hand to talk about local theater and how to get involved. \nThe show will include scenes from our exciting upcoming season\, (come and find out what we’re planning!)\, and concludes with the one-woman play\, “Tales from the Kitchen Table\,” written by and starring local thespian and playwright Corrie Gant. \nHave you seen the Sprague Theater since the new carpeting was installed? Her chief adversary is her former employer\, Arthur Roeder\, an idealistic man who cannot bring himself to believe that the same element that shrinks tumors could have anything to do with the terrifying rash of illnesses among his employees. \nSeating is general admission and tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for students 18 and younger. DESCRIPTION:Bandon Playhouse is excited to present “Radium Girls\,” a play by D.W. Gregory\, at the Sprague Community Theater\, as the first offering in its 2024 season. “Radium Girls” will be presented on Feb. 23\, 24 and 25 and March 1\, 2 and 3. Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30 p.m.\, and Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m. \nIn 1926\, radium was a miracle cure\, Madame Curie an international celebrity\, and luminous watches the latest rage— until the girls who painted them began to fall ill with a mysterious disease. \nInspired by a true story\, “Radium Girls” traces the efforts of Grace Fryer\, a dial painter\, as she fights for her day in court. Her chief adversary is her former employer\, Arthur Roeder\, an idealistic man who cannot bring himself to believe that the same element that shrinks tumors could have anything to do with the terrifying rash of illnesses among his employees. \nSeating is general admission and tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for students 18 and younger.
