MarLo Dance Studio introduces a fresh rendition of “Peter Pan,” opening Mother’s Day Weekend at the Sprague Community Theater in Bandon.

The show promises to captivate audiences of all ages. The production illustrates MarLo Dance Studio’s continued commitment to presenting a blend of inspirational storytelling and choreography, (ballet, tap, contemporary, jazz and hip hop), inviting audiences to experience the magic of live dance performance in unforgettable ways.

The show will run two weekends, May 8, 9, 10, and May 15,16, 17, at the Sprague Community Theater. Performance times are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Tiered reserve seating is $20 – $25 in advance or $27 at the door. For advance tickets, visit MarLoDance.com or call 706-550-1416.

Auditions: Nunsense the Musical

Bandon Playhouse is pleased to announce auditions for “Nunsense” the musical.

Auditions are Saturday, May 9, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Sprague Community Theater with callbacks on May 16.

Those auditioning for stage roles are invited to prepare 16 bars of an up-tempo musical theater piece, or a pop/country song. There will also be a small dance audition. Remember to wear comfortable clothing and shoes to dance in.

“Nunsense!” It’s Habit Forming! A hilarious farce about a convent of Nuns staging a fundraiser to enable them to bury the last four nuns of their order who were accidentally poisoned by the convent cook, Sister Julia (child of God). The Little Sisters of Hoboken (well, what’s left of them) put on this riotous revue packed with hilarious, show-stopping song and dance numbers, and it always proves to be a crowd favorite.

Rehearsals for the show begin in June. Performances are two weekends, August 7, 8, 9, and 14,15,16, 2026.

Movie Night: George of the Jungle

Brendan Fraser plays George in the Disney live-action version of the TV classic about a bumbling jungle man who falls for an heiress after saving her life.

Stay after the movie for a talk-back session with stage and screen actor Nameer El-Kadi, whose many credits include the role of “Ape Suit Performer” in “George of the Jungle.”

The movie also features Leslie Mann, Thomas Haden Church, Richard Roundtree and John Cleese, directed by Sam Weisman. The movie is rated PG, 1 hour and 32 minutes.

Show time is 7 p.m. on Friday, May 22, at the Sprague Community Theater. Admission is $5. Concessions are also available for purchase.

Movie Night: Near Myth: The Oskar Knight Story

Written and directed by Scott Fivelson, this fictional biopic takes a humorous and heartwarming look at the life of a revered, but little known, movie director Oskar Knight, played by Lenny Von Dohlen (“Twin Peaks,” “Electric Dreams,” “Tender Mercies”). The movie is 1 hour, 35 minutes.

The cast includes Academy Award winner Margaret O’Brien, International Emmy winner David Suchet, Joaquim de Almeida, Julianna Guill, Rudolf Martin, Lawrence Pressman, Kristina Anapau, Jon Provost, Noel Neill, and many more.

Show time is 7 p.m. on Friday, June 19, at the Sprague Community Theater. Admission is $5. Concessions also available for purchase.

Save the Date: Bandon Fringe Festival 2026

Save the date for the second annual Bandon Fringe Festival, June 25 through 28, 2026. The festival lineup features original work by local and touring performing artists in drama, music, physical comedy, and storytelling. The festival kicks off 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, with afternoon and evening performances through Sunday, June 28.
