Not to disappoint\, a few extra special ballet pieces with a twist are added to the mix. Guest artists include\, vocalist Destyni Fuller\, (who has graced such stages as Carnegie Hall and Willamette Country Music Festival)\, and professional actor/pantomime artist Nameer El Kadi. The show is packed with everything merry and bright– a one act delight for the entire family! \nPerformances are Saturday\, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m.\, with two matinee performances Sunday\, Dec. 11\, at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the Sprague Community Theater. \nThanks to the popularity of MarLo productions\, the studio highly encourages early pre-purchase for this one weekend “spectacular.” Pre-sale tickets are $14\, and admission is $16 at the door. Sullivan is the author of 22 books and numerous articles about Oregon\, including the “Oregon Trails” feature column for the Eugene Register-Guard and the Salem Statesman-Journal. \nA fifth-generation Oregonian\, Sullivan began hiking at the age of five and has been exploring new trails ever since. After studying at Deep Springs College in the California desert\, receiving an English degree from Cornell University\, and studying linguistics at Germany’s Heidelberg University\, he earned an M.A. in German literature from the University of Oregon. DESCRIPTION:April 27 Update: This event has been postponed. \n\nHarbor Lights Middle School is pleased to present a marimba concert at 6 p.m. on Thursday\, April 28. \nVenue Change: This concert will be presented at the Harbor Lights Middle School gymnasium\, 390 9th St SW\, in Bandon. \nThe performance will feature three HLMS marimba band ensembles showcasing music in a variety of styles from Zimbabwean style music to pieces by contemporary composers and popular music arranged for marimba. The event is also an opportunity to share appreciation for all past donors along with those who have helped repair and maintain the school’s marimba collection. \nAdmission is free\, but donations are gratefully accepted to support the marimba instrument collection\, including new mallets and marimbas. DESCRIPTION:Concert pianist Tien Hsieh comes to the Sprague Community Theater on Friday\, April 22\, presented by Bandon Showcase. \nSave the date for an evening with an award-winning and chart-topping classical performer– Tien’s keyboard mastery is matched only by her magnetic engagement with audiences. Show time is 7:30 p.m.\, and admission is $25 per person. \nTien has toured the globe\, performing ensemble concerts and solo recitals. Her MSR Classics recording “Bach & Beethoven: Mostly Transcriptions 2” earned critical praise\, topped the Amazon Best Sellers list twice\, and remained a best seller for two consecutive months in 2015. \nIn Bandon\, Tien looks forward to a program of (mostly) preludes\, pairing Chopin’s 24 Preludes\, Op. 28 with Scriabin’s 24 Preludes\, Op. 11\, with a taste of Rachmaninov to round out the program. \nTickets \nAdvance tickets are available on this website through April 20.
